Confidence of Ground Control for Validating Stereo Terrain Reconstruction
نویسنده
چکیده
This TR discusses aspects of using ground control to validate the computational terrain reconstruction. Image features provided for stereo matching allow to deduce simple confidence measures for reconstructed terrains, and only sufficiently confident terrain points should be validated by the available control data. 1 CITR, Tamaki Campus, University Of Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand Con dence of ground control for validating stereo terrain reconstruction Georgy Gimel'farb CITR, University of Auckland Tamaki Campus, Building 731, Auckland, New Zealand Abstract: Some aspects of using ground control to validate the computational terrain reconstruction are discussed. متن کاملToward Reactive Vision-Guided Walking on Rough Terrain: An Inverse-Dynamics Based Approach
This work presents a method to handle walking on rough terrain using inverse dynamics control and information from a stereo vision system. The ideal trajectories for the center of mass and the next position of the feet are given by a pattern generator. Then, an inverse dynamics control scheme relying on a quadratic programming optimization solver is used to let each foot go from its initial to ...
متن کاملLikelihood and Confidence of Terrain Profiles in the Symmetric Dynamic Programming Stereo
The paper considers probabilistic regularisation of partial occlusions in the intensity-based symmetric dynamic programming stereo (SDPS). The regularised SDPS relates the total similarity of corresponding pixels to a cumulative log-likelihood ratio for a profile that yields the correspondences. Transition probability models are investigated in detail in order to explicitly relate the likelihoo...
متن کاملStereo vision based terrain mapping for off-road autonomous navigation
Successful off-road autonomous navigation by an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) requires reliable perception and representation of natural terrain. While perception algorithms are used to detect driving hazards, terrain mapping algorithms are used to represent the detected hazards in a world model a UGV can use to plan safe paths. There are two primary ways to detect driving hazards with percepti...
متن کامل3D reconstruction and classification of natural environments by an autonomous vehicle using multi-baseline stereo
In natural outdoor settings, advanced perception systems and learning strategies are major requirement for an autonomous vehicle to sense and understand the surrounding environment, recognizing artificial and natural structures, topology, vegetation and drivable paths. Stereo vision has been used extensively for this purpose. However, conventional single-baseline stereo does not scale well to d...
